Job Title: Alcohol Drug Counselor - CADC 1 or CATC 1

Type: Full Time with benefits

Schedule: Choose from SWING and GRAVEYARD shifts

Location: Azusa, CA

Social Service Professionals, "the professional's choice" for careers in Social Work and Behavioral Health, is looking for an Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC 1 or CATC 1) to work as a Resident Aide at an upscale residential treatment center near Azusa, providing supportive services. This includes completing administrative paperwork, organizing program scheduling, and performing crisis intervention when needed.

Responsibilities:

-Acting as the first point of contact for residents in treatment

-Promoting order and adherence to recovery program

-Organizing and arranging daily schedules for staff and residents

Experience Requirements:

-1 year of experience working in addiction recovery

-1 year of experience working in a residential treatment facility is strongly preferred

Education Requirements:

-Completion of an approved training program for Alcohol Drug Counseling

Qualifications:

-Current Certificate for Alcohol Drug Counseling is required

-Current AHA-approved CPR card

Skills:

-Skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, logic and reasoning, judgment, time management techniques and data entry;

-Ability to make improvements or take corrective action;

-Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources;

-Organize, plan, and prioritize work;

-Communicate with people outside the organization, represent the organization to patients, clients and the public;

-Deal calmly and effectively in high stress situations;

-Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time;

-Work within a team as well as independently;

-Speak, read, and write effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience while demonstrating the proper use of grammar.
