Medical practice in Irvine is seeking a Billing specialist who is responsible to gather, enter and complete accurate patient demographic information, charges, and payments into our billing software. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate of a Medical Billing and Coding course.

Minimum Qualifications:

• One year experience in Medical Billing or Graduate of Medical Billing and Coding Course. Open to train the right candidate.
• 35+ words per minute and 10 key by touch with accuracy.
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems (preferred).
• Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT coding guidelines (preferred).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills both with internal and external parties.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Enter patient information, procedure, and diagnosis code information into the computer system for billing purposes.
• Confirm the accuracy of patient demographics and insurance information.
• Prepare and post payments, RA’s, and EOB’s,
• Reconcile all co-payment deposits.
• Submits claim with attached explanation and benefits to the secondary carrier.
• Scanning documents to the system.
• File and maintain organized documentation of all billing and record.
• Ensure compliance with all HIPPAA/HITECH requirements as legally required and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
• Sitting for long periods of time and repetitive hand motions for data entry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
