Full Job Description

Job Description:

  • Administer and score brief Cognitive assessments on patients
  • Administer basic nursing care, which may include vital signs
  • Liaison between patients and providers
  • Assist providers in managing their workflow
  • Assist providers in obtaining and reviewing patients health records
  • Maintain and document in the patient's electronic Health records
  • Assist in preparation of patients charts, authorizations for patients visits
  • Assist in scheduling patients appointments
  • Coordinate clinical trial schedules
  • Prepare medical records requests
  • Complete patient related forms and documents
  • Medication Refills and Prior Authorizations
  • Other clinical and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications, skills and experiences required:

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program (Certified Medical Assistant) or at least 2 years of similar job experience.
  • Geriatric experience
  • Ability to integrate needs of patients, family members and caregivers
  • Ability to work and complete tasks accurately within the limited time available
  • Detail oriented
  • Team player
  • Excellent communications skills

Due to our practice specialty, we require the candidate have the following skills:

  • Must be compassionate, use good judgment, be a team player and have excellent communication skills specially with elder patients
  • Must be flexible with daily priorities and able to work under time pressure with interruptions sometimes.
  • Strong computer skills including office and Internet
  • Must be able to communicate with patients in english clearly ( any second language skill is a plus)

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Medical office experience: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
