Position: Certified Lead Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Biller / Authorization Coordinator / Eligibility Referral Specialist (Bilingual Arabic encouraged to apply)

Location: Fullerton, CA

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Lead Medical Assistant Or Certified Medical Biller to join our team, a leading cardiology practice. This role requires a highly organized individual to manage our eligibility and referral department, while supporting the clinic’s back office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Department Management:
  • Oversee the eligibility and referral department.
  • Handle front desk duties including answering phone calls, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance coverage (HMO, PPO, MEDICAL).
  • Organize and compile patient paperwork to create comprehensive charts.
  • Eligibility and Referrals:
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the eligibility and verification processes.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing urgent referrals efficiently.
  • Collect co-pays, obtain medical records, handle authorizations, and maintain organized office operations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and explain insurance benefits and fee structures to patients.
  • Administrative Tasks:
  • Perform general administrative duties, including faxing, e-filing, and managing patient records.
  • Reconcile payment reports and enter data into eClinical software.
  • Coordinate patient requests with practitioners, nursing staff, and billing departments.
  • Office Management:
  • Order and manage office supplies, prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms.
  • Maintain patient charts, obtain and send medical records, and ensure accurate filing of information.
  • Handle prescription submissions electronically through EHR systems.
  • Patient Coordination:
  • Schedule appointments, follow up on voicemails, and ensure patient needs are met.
  • Exhibit strong written communication skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, email, and clinical scheduling software.
  • Multi-task effectively and work calmly under pressure.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program or Medical Billing program.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferred: 3-4 years of experience in a clinic setting.

While bilingual proficiency in Arabic is not a mandatory requirement for this position, candidates who are fluent in Arabic are highly encouraged to apply.
