Immediate opening for a full-time Pharmacy Billing Associate for a Closed-Door Pharmacy.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9 am – 5:30 pm, some Saturdays.

PURPOSE

Pharmacy Billing Associate is responsible for accurate and timely order entry and billing of prescriptions. Works with Long Term Care Facility Business Offices and Insurance companies to ensure prescriptions claims are entered and billed correctly and timely.

DUTIES

Billing, follow up and denial management of medical claims. Verify eligibility patient status as well as request and follow up on authorizations.. Employees holding this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by management.

· Bill electronic and paper claims

· Responsible for handling complaints and resolving billing issues (if issue requires a higher level of resolution or decision making then escalate to management after proper individual attempts have been made)

· Work and track denials as well as determine root cause.

· Follow proper document management storage requirements under applicable law

· Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA, FWA

· Participates in audits, special projects as they arise and other duties as assigned

Works over-time hours as needed and scheduled by Billing Managers

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Previous Pharmacy billing experience

· Customer Service

· Basic knowledge of insurance procedures, working with insurance carriers, Medicare and Medicaid.

· Understanding of Managed Care, Medi-Cal, IPA/Medical Group billing.

· Must be computer literate to prepare reports and able to navigate effectively and efficiently in the databases

  • Ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret data
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems and to deal with abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to work the hours that will ensure all projects and duties are completed in a timely manner.

COMPUTER SKILLS AND APPLICATIONS

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) familiarity with PowerPoint, Outlook; ability to use the Internet for research and information in support of job duties.

  • Pharmacy: 1 year (Preferred)
  • QS1/Docutrack 1 year (Preferred)

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
