Job Summary:

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Billing Specialist is responsible for billing and collections for Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, Circlebrook, and KidShip as assigned. This position may have total responsibility; provide coverage, or oversight for the following:

Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital (Distinct Part-Skilled Nursing Facility/subacute)

• Daily Facility Charge (Managed Care/Insurances/Medi-Cal)
• Supplemental Vent Weaning (Medi-Cal)
• Supplemental Therapy (Medi-Cal).

Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital (Acute)

• Daily Facility Charge (Managed Care/Insurances/Medi-Cal)
• Outpatient Therapy Billing (Managed Care/Insurance/Medi-Cal)

Circlebrook (Intermediate Care Facility)-Daily Facility Charge

KidShip (Preschool/Pediatric Day Health Center)-Hourly Facility Charge

The AR Billing Specialist will bill their area of responsibility based upon the guidelines established for that area.

All denials will be appealed timely. No write offs will me made unless approved by the VP of Finance. The AR Billing Specialist provides a monthly management by objectives (MBO) report to the VP of Finance.

It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the organization strategic plan, the goals and direction of the quality assurance performance improvement process, and activities

Requirements:

• Minimum of two (2) years working in a skilled nursing facility, health plan, medical specialty group, hospital, other related healthcare setting
• Combination of relevant education and work experience may be considered in meeting these requirements
• Must possess good work ethics and a professional image at all times
• Knowledge of CMS conditions of participation, CDPH state regulations, CCS, and TJC (hospital, nursing care center, and laboratory) accreditation requirements as applicable to job
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications as applicable to job
• Possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Works responsibly in a team environment as well as independently
• Manages confidential information effectively and appropriately
