Full Job Description

Emergency Ambulance Service, Inc., a respected leader in the delivery of mobile healthcare, is seeking to fill full-time billing assistant/file clerk positions working out of our Brea, CA location.

We are seeking quick thinking, detail oriented individuals, with exceptional people and customer service skills to work in our billing office.

The position is responsible for assisting billing office staff with scanning and filing, as well as general clerical work.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have good computer skills. Prior experience with medical billing software is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED. No experience required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to legibly document data for record keeping. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, field providers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the medical community. Ability to listen actively and comprehend the meaning of communications with co-workers, field providers, licensed healthcare professionals, communications center personnel, supervisors, managers, and administrators.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as mileage.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

All applicant hiring at EAS contingent on the following factors:

  • Receipt of a fully completed, signed and dated Online Employment Application ;
  • The applicant must be at least 18 years of age or older;
  • The applicant must possess at a minimum a High School Diploma or GED;
  • Successful completion of an investigative consumer report and reference check;
  • Successful completion of a search of the Fraud and Abuse Control Information Systems (FACIS®) database to ensure the applicant is not excluded from any government or healthcare contracts. FACIS® identifies sanctioned individuals with OIG, GSA and other federal agencies, as well as disciplinary
  • Acceptable documentation for compliance with the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1986, as amended;
  • Successful passing of a drug screen without any limitations, and;
  • Successfully passing an Oral Interview.
