ICD-10: 2 years (Preferred)
CPC with sound knowledge of guidelines and regulations including compliance and reimbursement. Bea able to identify Documentation deficiencies for PC/RH, Maternal Health, PEDs, Behavioral Health, HIV, TB and properly query providers for proper code capture and assigning accurate CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes etc. Familiar with HER billing processes.
Credentialed Medical Records Coders II with recent experience coding inpatient and/or outpatient medical records, preferably behavioral health services. Applicants for the current open positions must have professional coding work experience as described in the Experience category listed below. This position performs the following:
Develops, improves, and implements the review process for MediCal/Medicare and Medicare records
Determines appropriate codes, including diagnosis, ICD, CPT and procedure codes, and applies appropriate evaluation and management
Enhances the Department's Clinical Document Improvement program by providing appropriate clinician education and improved documentation methods
Performs routine review of claiming reports in order to identify trends and develops processes to address any identified issues
Continuously reviews and updates the charge description master for appropriate codes and insures the correct codes are available for the appropriate providers

Requirements:
Experience: Two (2) years of journey-level experience, within the past five (5) years, directly applying codes to inpatient or outpatient health visits for a healthcare organization utilizing ICD-9-CM or ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases) and DSM-IV and DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th Edition) coding classifications.
