Coding Issues Manager is primarily responsible for the oversight of coding issue tracker to ensure compliance with coding and revenue integrity components. Manager will monitor tracker and ensure that the edits and charge reconciliation functions are timely, accurate, complete and compliant with regulatory requirements, ensuring documentation and charges are available for coding and billing promptly. The Manager utilizes knowledge and resources to educate, be diplomatic and persuasive to ensure data integrity of coding issue tracker as well as the accuracy of coding and charging practices. The manager will liaise with Coding, Business Office and HIM departments of facilities and offshore units to maintain integrity of components of coding issue tracker whiles also ensuring that the recommendations made by the coding issues team is precise, appropriate and addresses the reason for which the account was assigned to the coding issues tracker in the first place.

Education and Work Experience
Required qualifications:
Medical Graduate, PA or Nursing Graduate.
CCS is required.
Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, DRG's, APC's, Severity Adjusted DRG's.
Basic computer experience required.
Use of an encoder software product for code assignment in an acute care setting required
Preferred qualifications:
1+ year of clinical experience in acute care setting preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding in an acute care setting preferred.
Computer data entry with 10-key preferred, with accurate typing speed of 35 wpm preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent critical thinking skills.
