Job Title: Coding Specialist HCPCS

Location: San Marcos

Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Position Summary:

The Lead Coding Specialist is responsible for assisting the department manager and director by providing coding expertise to a staff of coders and to ensure that coders are coding proficiently, accurately andn completely to facilitate the billing and reimbursement process. The Lead Coding Specialist is also responsible for guiding daily production and workflow of coders. S/he will posses a thorough knowledge of coding guidelines, will demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and work with more complex and/or specialized accounts/projects.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least two (2) years' of billing and coding experience in a health care facility or community clinic.
• Must have knowledge of Cpt HCPCS, and ICD 10 coding protocols.
• Familiarity with medical billing terminology.
• Knowledge of muti-specialty coding guideliness.
• Computer proficiency, electronic health records, Microsoft Office Suite
