Position Information

The K-16 Inland Empire (IE) Collaborative Director is responsible for planning, executing, and managing the programs as set forth in the Regional K-16 Collaborative grant proposal. The Director will work closely with Growing Inland Achievement (GIA), Riverside County Office of Education, and San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools that will serve as co-convenors on behalf of additional regional partners. The partners include all 12 Inland Empire/Desert regional community colleges, California State University, San Bernardino, a myriad of private non-profit colleges and universities, K12 school districts, non-profit organizations, and business and workforce partners. The incumbent will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners and communicate with multiple stakeholders including UCR's Chancellor and the University of California Office of the President (UCOP). The Director will work with grant partners to deploy and implement programs that incorporate educational, community, workforce, and employer engagement in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties to support equitable educational and economic opportunities for students and address equity barriers in career and technical education pathways in the areas of Healthcare, Engineering and Computing, Business, and Education. The Director will be responsible for budget management, analysis, and evaluation of the program. The Regional K-16 Collaborative Grant is in year 1 of a 4 year grant and the position may be extended based on funding and project needs.

Minimum Requirements

Advanced knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as events planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
Advanced skills in short and long term strategic planning, analysis and problem-solving and customer service.
Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and/or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Advanced interpersonal communication skills to include verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
Advanced knowledge in state and national educational structures and policies, current educational theories, and successful educational programs.
Ability to develop and maintain relations and partnerships.
Leadership experience in academic and/or K-16 education with a focus on regional collaboration.
Demonstrate expertise building collaborations between academia, education, and community agencies.
Demonstrate expertise building collaborations between academia, education, community agencies, and workforce partners.
Demonstrate ability to foster inclusive approaches that reduce attainment gaps, with equitable outcomes for all student regardless of historic distinctions by race and ethnicity, gender, geography, age immigration status, or economic status.
Advanced knowledge on integrating higher education, workforce development and community-based organization strategies to advance K-16 collaborative goals.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.

Advanced knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management.
