Title: Medical Biller

Location: Escondido, CA

Position Details:

40 hours/week in person with possibly to work remote part of the week after a probationary period.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years medical billing experience preferred
• Experience with practice management/EHR systems and Microsoft word/excel
• Spanish speaking a plus
• AAPC Certification: CPB or CPC a plus

Job Description: Medical biller responsibilities will include any of the following:

• Review medical claims for accuracy according to CPT, ICD-10 and payer guidelines
• Submit medical claims electronically and on paper
• Work with medical offices to resolve documentation errors/missing information
• Sort and post incoming patient and insurance payments to accounts
• Create and bill patient responsibility statements
• Review monthly A/R reports for missing payments, missed denials and follow up.
• Answer incoming phone calls from patients and/or medical offices

Must have:

• Prior medical billing and or coding experience
• Knowledge of insurance billing including PPO, HMO, Capitation, Worker’s Comp and Government insurance including Medicare, Tricare and Veterans.
• Data entry with high level of accuracy
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently to accomplish daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft office, specifically Word and Excel
• Proficiency in 10-key
