Job Description and essential functions:

• Post a high volume of payments, in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Ability to read, understand and correctly apply payments from EOB’s to patient’s accounts.
• Ability to balance the day’s posting and prepare the daily deposit / generate month end AR reports.
• Ability to access the Internet to verify patient information using several established links.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-cal, Cal-Optima, Managed Care and other governmental insurance programs.
• Review open invoices to identify delinquent account / Aging Report.
• Research account discrepancies.
• Follow up on denied claims and initiate collection calls.
• Send out appeal letters.
• Re-billing and claim scrubbing.
• Preparing and typing routine correspondence, form letters and reports.
• Assisting with various basic personnel administrative functions as needed.
• Acting as backup to other clerical personnel in office as needed.
• Assist administrator with month-end reporting requirements
• Assist in auditing records for ongoing compliance with medical records standards
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Type 45 wpm. minimum.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including outlook and Word.
• Knowledge and experience with Medical EHR Systems.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Background Requirements:

High School Diploma is required but Associate degree preferred.

Minimum one (1) year office experience, including use of EHR Systems.

however, more experience preferred.

Driver’s License required with proof of Insurance.

• Monday to Friday
