A Southern California Health System is in need of a Medicare Collections Specialist for a large Insurance clean up project. The Medicare Collections Specialist you will be reviewing and analyzing aged accounts to determine the next course of action to collect on the account. The Medicare Collections Specialist must have at least 2+ years of experience doing collections specifically for California hospitals. The Medicare Collections Specialist must be well versed in various Medicare plans including Medicare Advantage and Managed Care Plans. This role is remote, but you must be able to pick up equipment onsite in Irvine, CA. Employees must live in California.

Medical Insurance Follow-up
Knowledge of rebills, denials, appeals
High School diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 3+ years of prior healthcare collections experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Proven knowledge of explanation of benefits (EOBs)
Previous experience working with an electronic medical system required
InPatient Outpatient experience
Solid understanding of Medi-Cal
Experience with medical billing
Medicare experience preferred
Deep understanding of medical collections
Strong technical skills including proficiency with MS Office
