The Revenue Cycle Specialist handles and resolves insurance billing, follow up and denial issues to ensure that practice receives correct reimbursement from the insurance companies. They will also research and answer all inquiries, regarding patient accounts. The goal is to resolve billing/denial issues through positive relationships/communication with the insurance companies, patients, and internal parties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work through assigned accounts in a timely manner, follow detailed instructions
• Respond to requests for information, both internally and externally.
• Assist patients with questions regarding outstanding balances.
• Develop and sustain a good working relationship with insurance companies.
• Identify possible problems that may cause any slowing of the cash flow. (i.e. new insurance plans, new, credentialing, contracting or new providers).
• Assist other departments.

Education and/or Experience:

• Previous medical experience in billing, accounts receivables, and patient customer service. Open to train the right candidate.
• familiar with HMO's, PPO's, Medicare, and Patient balance-billing.
• 35+ words per minute and 10-key by touch with accuracy.
• Ideal if experienced in Nextgen EPM/EMR.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, insurance companies and patients.
• Prefer demonstrated knowledge, usage, and experience with CPT and ICD10 codes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including letters, memos, and emails.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
• Sitting for long periods of time and repetitive hand motions for data entry.
