Job title: Accounting Assistant

Location: Irwindale CA.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our finance department with daily administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of basic accounting principles and be proficient in managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, and reconciling financial data. A high level of accuracy and organizational skills are essential, along with proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or similar. The candidate should have a degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion are key.

Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management:
  • Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates to the ledger.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Bank Reconciliation:
  • Reconcile bank statements with company records.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare reconciliation reports for review.
  • Intercompany Transactions:
  • Manage and record intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts.
  • Accounts Payable:
  • Process and manage accounts payable transactions.
  • Verify invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable.
  • Excel Proficiency:
  • Use Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to track and analyze financial data.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in accounting or a related field.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger, bank reconciliation, intercompany transactions, and accounts payable.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Salary: Dependent on experience (DOE).
