Job Summary:
We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for assisting with various financial tasks and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Duties:
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment collection, and vendor management
- Conduct credit analysis to assess the financial stability of customers and vendors
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries, general ledger accounts, and bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Support the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial databases
- Assist with tax compliance activities, including gathering necessary documentation and preparing tax returns
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial concepts
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Quickbook
- Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to analyze numerical data accurately
- Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
