THE ROLE

Under the leadership of the Regional Finance Director, the Accounting Manager will oversee the Accounting and Finance functions for the food, beverage, and merchandise operations at Angel Stadium. Specifically, this position will oversee the fiscal support functions of Legends Sports, LLC in accordance with current Federal and State regulations and generally accepted accounting principles. Further, this position is to provide financial management and analysis. This position will oversee, monitor and analyze operating budgets, including monthly financial analyses, monthly forecasting, annual planning, cash forecasting, and ad hoc business analyses.


 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work directly with the General Manager and the Regional Finance Director to prepare operations analysis and reports.
  • Manage all aspects of the day-to-day accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger.
  • Support the Business Plan Process and ensure tie in with the strategic direct and tie in to the annual budgets.
  • Directly oversee subordinate finance/accounting team of reports.
  • Daily reconciliation of cash(if applicable) and credit card transactions.
  • Prepare a flash revenue report after every event day.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial forecasts for comparison to budget.
  • Oversee the inventory process and perform in-depth cost of goods analysis.
  • Coordinate the preparation of monthly financial statement.
  • Ensure a timely and accurate month-end closing process.
  • Analyze monthly balance sheet and P&L figures to prepare comments and identify performance trends.
  • Coordinate preparation of annual budget for review by internal and external parties.
  • Build solid working relationships with business and department leaders.
  • Support of all Teams in the analysis and evaluation of various business opportunities to ensure we are driving profitability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 5-8 years of experience; preferably in the hospitality, retail or high volume enviroment
  • Knowledge of NCR Quest and/or point of sale systems a plus
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential.
  • Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively, and to understand complex business dynamics.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including nights, weekends and holidays.

 

COMPENSATION

Competitive salary $65,000 - $70,000 , commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
