As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. Health, vision and dental insurance is available to the employee.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

Back Office Duties

  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, patient history, and reason for seeking care. Inputting information into the EMR system.
  • Assist in coordinating care for patients by helping to obtain appointments with specialists or for other procedures.
  • Assist patient care by obtaining medical records from other offices.
  • Manage patient prescription refills.
  • Assist patients in obtaining prior authorizations for procedures or medications.
  • Assist patients with generating referrals via online portals to specialists for care.
  • Assist with paperwork necessary for Laboratory and Radiology orders.
  • Technical Duties
  • Perform EKGs
  • Perform Spirometry testing.
  • Process Patient Referrals
  • Administer IM injections and documentation.
  • Perform POC Glucose testing, UA dip, Urine toxicology preparation.
  • Educational Duties
  • Assist the provider with patient education pertaining to their ongoing health care. (Training will be provided)

General Office Duties

  • Process phone calls/messages/schedule appointments.
  • Record patient charges for billing department
  • Check in patients, verify insurance status, and collect copays, deductibles and balances.
  • Update patient demographics
  • Scanning and uploading of necessary paperwork into patient accounts.

Skills

  • Degree in Medical Assisting
  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant at least 1-2 years experience
  • Medical Terminology
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
