The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System - Behavioral Health Department is currently recruiting a Behavioral Health Specialist IV (BHS IV). Crisis Supports System of Care (Mobile Crisis Dispatch), Riverside, CA.Riverside University Health System’s (RUHS), Behavioral Health department’s (BH), Crisis Supports System of Care (Mobile Crisis Dispatch) works to support individuals of all ages and demographics experiencing a behavioral health crisis to keep them safe in the community or at the lowest level of care possible by providing field-based support, resources and follow up linkage to community resources. This position will work with BHSII’s and BHSIII’s in the Dispatch Call Center. As part of the crisis team, the BHSIV will work with the supervisor to assist in providing guidance, support and training to dispatch staff. The BHS IV may also help to conduct brief screenings for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and substance related barriers. provides oversight and review of all Mental Health clinics and Managed Care providers providing services to our beneficiaries. The office handles any problems, complaints, and/or grievances and assures program compliance with state and federal regulations. This position will work a 9/80 schedule and will require some driving therefore a California driver’s license is required. Candidates are required to be certified as an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counselor and to have a valid Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) certification in accordance with the certification requirements as pursuant to Sections 11755, 11864, 11876 (a), and 11834.50 of the California Health and Safety Code and Sections 9846, 10125 and 10564 of the California Code of Regulations through either the California Consortium of Addictions Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) or the California Association of DUI Treatment Programs or Addiction Counselor Certification Board of California (ACCBC). Contact diverse community groups to encourage and support the development of substance abuse education, prevention, and counseling programs.• Consult with community-based organizations and schools on specific substance abuse-related concerns they may have.• Assist public and private programs in the development of information and administrative tools necessary to support substance abuse preventive efforts.• Assist public and private organizations in the development of tools necessary to identify substance abuse problems and provide substance abuse prevention and treatment services.• Develop individual outlines and guidelines for substance abuse education, counseling and prevention programs; recommend to interested organizations the amount and type of resources necessary to establish effective substance abuse prevention and counseling programs.• May provide some substance abuse counseling or prevention services as needed.• Work with community organizations to create a more favorable attitude toward individuals recovering from substance abuse; work with community-based organizations to identify potential sources of funds for substance abuse efforts.• Write grant proposals; assist in the evaluation of the County's substance abuse consultation services and strategic prevention programs, recommending modifications as necessary; may supervise individuals assigned to special projects.
