Full Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Follow California Detox’s policies, procedures, and protocols.

2. Types and performs data entry as needed for communication purposes.

3. Organizes and upload documents to client files. (if applicable)

4. Conforms to all necessary quality assurance standards.

5. Drug tests clients effectively according to California Detox Waived Testing procedures.

6. Greets scheduled visitors and coordinates to appropriate area or person.

7. Follows up with facility rules and expectations, helps clients comply with contracts.

8. Organizes California Detox’s cleaning supplies and materials.

9. Makes copies of printed materials.

10. “Observe and Report” for overall client care

11. Assess Clients for detoxification systems and performs all necessary documentation regarding clients (ie: rounds q 30m, vitals)

12. Communicates effectively Program Director about Treatment Technician competency and completion of job duties and responsibilities.

3. JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE - Employee completes all chart related documents and correspondence for assigned clients in a timely manner.

4. QUANTITY AND QUALITY OF WORK – Cares about the quality and accuracy of work being produced. Accepts responsibility for completing job tasks. Uses time productively and efficiently.

5. ATTITUDE – Demonstrates a cooperative, positive, and enthusiastic attitude toward fellow employees, clients and visitors. Maintains a positive attitude in carrying out assignments and is helpful and courteous to fellow employees.

9. FLEXIBILITY / HANDLING EMERGENCIES – Responds well to changing situations or routines. Handles crisis situation calmly and professionally.

Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

1. Individual is knowledgeable of and enforces California Detox’s policies, procedures, and protocols.

2. Individual is proficient in typing and performing data entry as needed for communication purposes

4. Individual conforms to all necessary quality assurance standards.

  • Individual is efficient and follows California Detox’s Waived testing procedures when performing drug tests on clients.
  • Individual greets scheduled visitors and is efficient in coordinating to appropriate area or person.
  • Individual is consistent on following up with facility rules and expectations and helps clients comply with contracts.
  • Individual participates in limited paraprofessional counseling activities, under direct supervision.
  • Individual is able to maintain a clean and orderly facility.
  • Individual is efficient in using printers and making copies.
  • Individual is thorough and consistent in “Observing and Reporting” for overall client care
  • Individual can Perform all necessary documentation regarding clients.
  • Individual assesses all Clients for any detoxification symptoms.

14. Individual has effective Communication with Program Director about Treatment Technician competency and completion of job duties and responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Education / Experience

· Has a high school diploma or GED

· Licensed, Certified, or Registered Drug and Alcohol Technician or Counselor, with a certifying organization recognized by DHCS

Certificates and Licenses

· Has CPR and First Aid certifications

· RADT-1 at time of hire.

Health Clearance

· Passes mandatory health and drug screen

· Has had a tuberculosis (TB) test 60 days prior to hire or at minimum 7 days after employment.

· Completes and passes annual TB testing.

Knowledge

· An acute understanding of counseling and other treatment procedures for alcoholism and drug addiction related problems.

· A knowledge of regulations concerning alcoholism and drug addiction treatment.

· Working knowledge of alcoholism and drug addiction and treatment procedures for such illness.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
