Do you have experience in licensing renewals? Do you love food? If so, read on! We may have the role of a lifetime for you!

Trader Joe's is unlike any place you've ever worked. Trust us on that. The qualified person has at least 3 years of licensing renewal and payment experience and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept. This role is based in our office in Monrovia, CA.

The Business License and Accounting Coordinator will be primarily responsible for supporting the Accounting Department’s efforts to meet licensing requirements for the Company. They will be responsible for ensuring filings and payments relating to licenses, property taxes, and miscellaneous check requests are issued and on time.

The Business License and Accounting Coordinator is responsible for:

Licensing:

o Obtain data requested from third parties to file all licensing renewals on a timely basis.

o Work with outside providers to maintain the license renewal calendar and make sure all licenses are up to date and all deadlines are met.

o Record licensing payments made by third parties and reconcile business license payment accounts. Follow-up on unusual charges, as necessary.

o Scan, file, or mail licenses so they are available to the store for posting.

o Research and apply for licenses required for new stores.

Open and review all mail relating to compliance including business licenses, property taxes, etc.
Create check requests and coding for property tax filings to go to the tax team for review on significant changes.
Issue EFT payments to authorities for Unsecured Property Tax.
Create check requests for the accounting team and make various payments upon request.
Review and code invoices relating to licenses, miscellaneous tax filings, inspections, violation notices, etc. for approval.
Prepare various filings on behalf of multiple departments.
Ensure tax filings are timely and all payment due dates are met.
Assist in various tax and financial statement audit requests, including gathering supporting documentation.
Assist with other special projects as assigned.
Promote the Trader Joe’s Company culture by encouraging open communication, teamwork, food, fun, and Hawaiian shirts.

The position requirements include:

High level of integrity and commitment to maintain confidentiality over sensitive financial data
Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

Exceptional organizational, and multi-tasking skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook)
Experience in SAP or other large ERP
