Position Summary

Processes orders for pharmacy customers. Serves the needs of patients by accurately and effectively processing prescription orders. Listens to their concerns and addresses issues.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Answer in-bound pharmacy customer calls.
  • Make out-bound calls to patients, healthcare providers, referrals, and insurance carriers.
  • Resolve customer issues including billing and insurance denials with insurance carriers.
  • Establish and maintain patient profiles including lists of medications, insurance, billing, and provider information.
  • Process orders using Enterprise Rx; gather patient demographics and billing information to complete requested orders and to obtain prior authorizations.
  • Assists pharmacists on an as-needed basis; maintaining inventory, stocking pharmacy, preparing and dispensing medication.

 

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Resident State Pharmacy Technician License (CPhT)
  • 1-2 years pharmacy technician experience

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to answer hi-volume in-bound calls via an automated phone system
  • Ability to make outbound calls to customers and referrals as necessary
  • Basic knowledge of insurance, pharmacy authorization, and billing
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Must be bilingual (Spanish)
