Substance Abuse Group Facilitator/Case Manager – (Mon-Fri) Newport Beach, CA
Overview:
We are a Co-ed outpatient and Residential treatment facility looking for a passionate, caring, and ethical Substance Abuse Counselor/Case Manager to work with our clients Monday – Friday. Candidates’ will be counseling, facilitating groups, maintaining electronic health records, as well as other supportive services appropriate to the participant’s recovery process.
The Counselor orientates each resident to the program rules, expectations, intent, and routine of the daily treatment schedule. This position requires a strong knowledge of appropriate personal and clinical boundaries, a passionate attitude, and the ability to deal with difficult, uncertain, and stressful situations in a positive and appropriate manner.
Must understand the therapeutic process, confidentiality laws, professional ethics, fundamentals of addiction, chemical dependency, and the 12-step philosophy. Must be able to demonstrate leadership abilities, and be able to work with and communicate with persons from all educational and cultural backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
CADC or greater certification
Minimum 1-year experience in this field
Computer proficient
Excellent written and communication skills
Certification in First Aid/CPR
2 years of sobriety if in recovery
