INSTITUTES OF HEALTH is hiring a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC) to join our First Responder Institute at our new Anaheim clinic. This is a full-time position working with a collaborative team to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based care for first responders, veterans, and workers’ comp patients.

You’ll work closely with psychologists, case managers, and medical providers in our interdisciplinary Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). If you’re passionate about helping people recover and rebuild, we want to hear from you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead substance abuse counseling groups using structured treatment models
  • Provide individual counseling to address substance use and co-occurring disorders
  • Collaborate with the clinical team during weekly case conferences
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with program requirements
  • Support patient progress through treatment planning and case coordination
  • Participate in interdisciplinary planning and contribute to a positive, team-focused clinic culture

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Current CDAC certification in California (CADC-I, CADC-II, CCAPP, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in substance abuse counseling
  • A belief in the community recovery groups such as AA, NA, etc. and the ability to guide first responders towards self-efficacy for long-term recovery
  • Skilled in running group sessions and documenting clinical progress
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, integrated team environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to support patients with empathy and consistency

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience working with first responders, veterans, or trauma-impacted populations
  • Familiarity with CBT, relapse prevention, or trauma-informed care
  • Knowledge of the workers’ compensation system or similar documentation standards

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
