Job Description-Medical Assistant (Front Office)
Job Type: Full-time with some Overtime Hours (up to 1.5 per week)
We are a fast paced, specialized ENT/surgical private practice office. We work collaboratively as a team to achieve our commitment of offering the highest level of personalized and compassionate medical care. We are seeking a dedicated and patient focused M.A. to join our team.
Responsibilities include:
Front Office:
-Answer calls, schedule/reschedule appointments using AllScripts EMR System; promote scheduling efficiency
-Respond to requests for information and medical records requests (via fax, email, phone, etc.) and process requests in an appropriate and timely manner
-Warmly and sincerely greet patients and assist with check-in
-Ensure patient paperwork is accurately completed and scan documents into EMR system
-Patient check out including collecting payment for services and scheduling follow up appointments which are sometimes complex; Explain co-pay, co-insurance, deductible, etc. to patients at check out if needed
-Track referrals and diagnostic testing orders and routinely review upcoming schedule and ensure all pertinent lab, imaging and other results are in patient chart prior to appointment
-Maintain pleasant waiting room environment
-Take accurate messages-including pertinent patient information
-Make appointment reminder calls
-Consistently comply with HIPPA, OSHA and other regulatory and professional standards
Other Duties as Assigned:
Occasionally assist with other typical MA duties, such as help to autoclave instruments, stock rooms with supplies, assist Clinician with patient in exam room, etc.

-Scheduling flexibility (available to work shifts between the hours of 7 a.m.-6 p.m, Monday thru Friday including last minute overtime)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
-Working understanding of medical terminology and insurance terms and benefits,
-Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
-Electronic medical records (preferably Allscripts or EPIC) and common office software competency (Word, Excel, email)
-Minimum 2 years’ experience in a specialty or surgical practice or Urgent Care Clinic
-Graduation from a formal MA training program, (MA certification strongly preferred)

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
