Full Job Description
Job Title: Treatment Counselor
Reports to: Clinical Supervisor
Job purpose: The counselor will provide a minimum of 120 hours per month of direct counseling and case management services to patients that will consist of individual, group, family and educational services, including assessment, individualized treatment plans, counseling and aftercare services. The counselor will be responsible for maintaining and reviewing patient records regularly for high quality of care.
DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
a. Preparation of current patient progress notes and ongoing reports.
b. Completion notices to the patient, courts, probation/parole departments, and referral sources.
c. Maintains accurate and current patient records, regularly reviewing patient progress and/ or lack thereof.
d. Ensures that every effort is made to assist the patient in reaching his/her treatment goals.
e. Cooperate with local agencies and organizations.
f. Is familiar with all aspects of the clinic’s operations.
g. Participates in training and education as it relates to his or her role as counselor at the clinic.
h. Perform other related tasks as assigned by the clinical supervisor.
Qualifications:
a. Be certified and/or licensed with an accrediting/certifying body in the state of California. BBS, CCAPP, CADTP, CAADE. Individuals with an ASW are encouraged to apply.
b. Have training and/or experience in treating chemical dependency patients in an outpatient program.
c. Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in treating chemically dependent patients.
d. Able to work with high-risk patients.
e. Has knowledge and understanding of cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing harm reduction model, medically assisted treatment (MAT), as well as opiate addiction.
f. Experience working with patients in an outpatient setting. Possess managerial skills.
g. Able to manage patient to counselor ratio, as deemed appropriate by the clinic at any given time.
h. Adhere to state and federal regulations and accreditation agency standards pertaining to outpatient treatment.
i. Conduct self ethically and professionally at all times.
j. Has knowledge of and is culturally sensitive to the problems of the patients of this clinic.
k. Demonstrable history of no alcohol or drug/medication misuse for a period of five (5) years prior to employment.
l. Perspective individual will not display any evidence of alcohol or drug/medication misuse and/or unlawful behavior as an employee of SOAP MAT, LLC.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
