Responsible for greeting patients and other for the Eye care Institute; schedule and confirm patient appointments; process patient payments and receipts; verify insurance eligibility and benefits. Works collaboratively with optimetric staff to assure patient satisfaction.

Good computer skills necessary in order to set up document formats in Word, Excel, and any other software program required by this position. Familiarity with the Internet is helpful.
Good verbal and written communications skills. Optometric terminology is helpful.
Skill with fax, copy machine, printer, telephone operation, and the ability to type at 40 words per minute.
Basic math skills.
Applicant must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
Applicant must have excellent interpersonal skill necessary to interact well with patients, staff, students, physicians, and the public; be culturally sensitive.
Required Qualifications
Education: Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Graduate Equivalency Diploma or High School Diploma required.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a similar or related position.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual – Spanish speaking is highly preferred.
Experience in an optometric setting is helpful, with a working knowledge of health insurance eligibility and benefits processes.

Prepare the daily deposits for checks arriving in the mail, make copies of the checks and deposit slips for the medical billing department.
