Full Job Description

ATCR IS LOOKING FOR:

A certified, associate, or licensed clinician enthusiastic about providing individual, family and group services, and case coordination for clients with a primary diagnosis of substance use. Interest in working with our IOP, Alumni, and Family populations is a plus! The clinician is expected to cooperate as a team member in the provision of a therapeutic environment that encourages each client’s wellbeing and growth.

ATCR has day and evening schedule opportunities available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications – Associate’s degree OR Completion of Certification from an AOD accredited college in a behavioral health field OR certification by the state of California or national certfication in the appropriate discipline (counseling, substance abuse, or social work) and two (2) years experience in substance abuse and/or mental health treatment. Must be state certified within one (1) year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications – Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in the behavioral health field and 2 years experience working in the field of addiction and mental health. State or national license in the an appropriate discipline (counseling, marriage family therapy, social work, psychology).

  • Ability to perform duties as a counselor/therapist according to TAP21 “Addiction Counseling Compentencies” and “12 Core functions of the AOD Counselor” with respect to screening, assessment, individualized treatment planning, crisis intervention, group and individual counseling, case management, referral, discharge summaries, clinical documentation, and professional ethics.
  • General understanding of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) levels of service and treatment and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders (DSM-V).
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with subordinate staff, supervisors, utilization review, managed health care clinicains, medical and mental health professionals.
  • Ability to positively interact and develop rapport with clients and their families.
  • Possess current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Possess current TB test.
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct prescreening and Biopsychosocial assessments and develop clinical summaries, and narrative reports.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on prioritized problem lists.
  • Provide indivdual, group, and family counseling services in coordination with other team members and within your scope of practice.
  • Evaluate and document client progress toward treatment goals and plan.
  • Develop and provide solid discharge plans and summaries for assigned caseload of the program ensuring all outside follow up appointments with physicians,therapy sessions,outside meetings and support groups are attended.
  • Cooperate with Utilization Review when necessary in providing continued stay clinical justification.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings with other team members as needed.
  • Participate in the agency’s orientation training, staff meetings, and in-service training.
  • Participate in the agency’s Quality Management system.
  • Provide accurate assessment and referral when appropriate.
  • Provide appropriate treatment interventions relative to the specific needs of each client.
  • Provide effective treatment service as reflected by the client meeting his/her individual goals.
  • Adhere to ethics, legal aspects of clinical practice, and professional standards.
  • Document clinical services accurately and completely within set time frames.
  • Exercise awareness in cultural competnecy issues.
  • Conduct other tasks as needed or assigned.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
