Full Job Description
The Certified Medical Assistant will provide direct patient care under the guidelines of the American Association of Medical Assistants.
B. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Work Position:
1. Sitting - writing, phone calls - Frequency - 20% or more.
2. Standing - performance procedures - Frequency - less than 40%.
3. Walking - to and from examination room - Frequency - less than 40%.
Body Movements:
1. Lifting - 0-60 lbs. or more; patients, supplies, etc. - Frequency - approximately 15%.
2. Bending, stooping and squatting - delivering patient care - Frequency - approximately 30%.
3. Reaching above head to 75 degrees - supplies, charts - Frequency - approximately 10%.
4. Pushing/pulling - transporting patients in wheelchair or on gurney - Frequency - approximately 10%.
5. Hand/grip dexterity - administer medication/injections, writing, holding instruments - Frequency - approximately 30%.
6. Climbing stairs, one flight - Frequency - approximately 5%.
C. SPECIFICS:
1. Must be a positive team player with ability to work independently when necessary, and always maintaining confidentiality
2. Prepare and maintain documents of pertinent information that follows credentialing guidelines for processing.
3. Observant and mindful at all times of “applicant/provider” needs for assistance with completing required documents to meet credentialing deadlines.
4. Ability to effectively communicate with various level of management, Corporate and Health Plan Representatives.
5. Attentive to researching pertinent information to ensure the accuracy all documents obtained.
6. Ability to professionally reinforce the importance of obtaining required documents in a timely manner to meet credentialing deadlines. Identify problems and be accommodating to solutions for a positive outcome.
7. Computer literate and ability to adapt to changes within programs used for credentialing, etc. EZ-CAP, MSOW.
8. Competent with Excel spreadsheets, Outlook calendars, and emails. Ability to format professional emails and letters to Health Plans, Providers, High level Management and co-workers.
9. Maintain current, accurate, and detailed follow-up logs, for management to obtain status of pending applications received.
10. Actively participate in credentialing meetings as well as distribute finalized documents to corporate. Maintain and monitor all equipment used for patient care and testing, including calibration of equipment. Reports any discrepancy to supervisor.
11. Actively participate in Health Plan Audits and send quarterly credentialing reports to Health Plans.
12. Be flexible with assignments and display positive attitude toward other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
