Responsibilities:
Critical Care Tech - Stepdown position located at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA
 

This is a per diem, night, weekend only position.
 


The Patient Care Tech is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the STEPDOWN in order to ensure appropriate patient care.

 

The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center® began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Graduate or equivilent
  • One year experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Prior experience working as a telemetry/monitor tech preferred
  • Completion of a medical terminology course or a minimum of 6 months working in a healthcare setting

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • Current CA EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework
  • Dysrhythmia course certificate or successful completion of dysrhythmia course for monitor techs within 90 days of hire/transfer
  • CA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) required within 1 year of hire/transfer
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
