Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is crucial in facilitating the financial operations of our medical office and ensuring timely collections. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.

Responsibilities

Medi-CAL Billing
Insurance Billing
Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies accurately and in a timely manner.
Review patient records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and resolving payment issues with insurance providers.
Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Collaborate with the medical office staff to address any billing-related questions or concerns from patients or providers.
Conduct regular audits of billing processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure accuracy in coding practices.

Skills

Proficient in medi-cal billing and coding practices, including knowledge.
Familiarity with medical office systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries.
Experience in medical collections is a plus, demonstrating an understanding of the revenue cycle management process.
Knowledge of medical records management principles to maintain accurate documentation and compliance standards.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
