DMH Program Manager - Drug and Alcohol Counseling

Job Description

Position: Program Manager

Responsible for overseeing the overall operations of one of the Wraparound Programs including the integration of behavioral health services and programs and supervision of assigned staff. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct, plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate program services to ensure quality and effectiveness of service delivery and ensure person-center approach throughout program services
  • Attend DMH provider meetings, LIONs meeting, children’s provider meeting, LWA, and case reviews
  • Support program staff during DCFS CFT meetings
  • Develop strategies to maximize program success
  • Collaborate with Department of Mental Health (DMH) Management, DMH liaisons, Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Los Angeles County (LAC) Probation Department (Probation), representatives from Provider agencies, the Association of Community Human Services Agencies (ACHSA), Parent Advocates/Parent Partner liaisons and other key stakeholders
  • Submit weekly capacity log to DMH
  • Maintain an up to date caseload on all active clients, disenrolled, and graduations
  • Attend treatment team meetings on a weekly basis
  • Review and approve clinical event reports via DMH website
  • Assign wraparound cases within 24hr of referral. Urgent cases same day of referral
  • Initiate self-referrals and conduct outreach as needed
  • · Monitor and track that all wrap staff complete all 14 wraparound mandatory trainings within a year of hire
  • Monitor wrap tracking forms (WTS) case rate and documentation
  • Monitor, track, and report program outcomes, goals and budget expenditures
  • Provide supervision and coordinate clinical supervision for program staff within the approved guidelines of the Board of Behavioral Science
  • Monitor and train program staff to ensure high productivity, accuracy and consistency in program quality, including external reports/letters and client files
  • Maintain petty cash flow
  • Responsible for contract compliance including auditing of service charts and other contract documentation requirements
  • Provide weekly individual supervision for program assistant, data management, and as needed
  • Oversee site calendar and scheduling of services and activities including clinical supervision to ensure compliance to State regulations and laws
  • Attend community meetings/conferences and interagency meetings to represent agency/program in a professional manner as assigned by Clinical Director and/or Executive Director
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and coordination of clinical supervision for SPIRITT within the approved guidelines of the Board of Behavioral Science
  • Maintain an awareness of new mental health laws governing program and treatment modalities
  • Coordinate with the mental health component of the Agency to ensure program quality
  • Keep the Executive Director and Directors informed on mental health issues and needs
  • Oversee, review, train, and update Counselors & Supportive Staff to ensure accuracy and consistency in program quality, internal reports/letters and client files through weekly individual and group; meetings
  • Be available to staff/clients 24 hours a day 7 days a weee, for after hours for crisis/case consultation
  • Provide administrative support in personnel issues, such as hiring and terminating program personnel, as well as implementing and maintaining Program(s) and Agency Policies and Procedures
  • Communicate with the Program Director regarding personnel issues and program needs
  • Attend management and agency staff meetings to discuss program and agency needs
  • Assist in the preparation of agency proposals and/or grant applications
  • May assist with assessments, documentation, crisis intervention and facilitation of treatment team meetings
  • Adhere to Agency Policies and Procedures

Skills Required:

  • Possess skills in organizing, planning and prioritizing, and ability to facilitate meetings
  • Possess good judgement and able to work independently and as a team
  • Possess excellent oral and written communications skills to communicate and document work activities
  • Possess adequate coursework, and knowledge of legal and ethical issues regarding child & family counseling and other emotional, social and behavioral health concerns
  • Possess training and adhere to child and adult dependent abuse and families
  • Knowledge and ability to provide integrated services for children, adults and families
  • Knowledge and ability to provide services in the alcohol and/or drug related field and to various ethical/cultural groups in the community
  • Knowledge and ability to provide specific services as required by Contract (s) (see attached)
  • Operate a personal computer and routine word processing skills
  • Complete a 7-week session of the Family Communication Skills Classes (Windows/Ventanas)

Education & Experience:

  • Master of Science or Master of Arts degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Psychology and preferred experience (3 years) in a mental health program.
  • May require maintaining a license in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Science if licensed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,206.00 - $98,000.00 per year
