Full Job Description

Northbound Treatment Services is a nationally recognized private, residential addiction treatment program for adults. Accredited by The Joint Commission, Northbound meets the highest quality standards for behavioral health and client care.

Northbound is looking for Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselors/Case Managers to support detox and residential clients within our treatment center for substance abuse and dual diagnosis. Provides assessment, case management, crisis intervention, addiction education and group facilitation, family contact and engagement, discharge and continuing care planning services to assigned clients.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Provides clients individual and group counseling, case management services

· Facilitates daily individual sessions (for a length of time informed by clients’ abilities to focus and engage in counseling) daily with assigned residents

· Provides crisis intervention including proactive retention efforts and ACA blocking

· Creates short term treatment plan for each client within 24 hours of admit.

· Enforces rules of the facility and implements consequences when needed

· Maintains client chart and files all notes, records for their clients

· Ensures client progress and updates treatment plan as needed

· Coordinate continuum of care planning – working with Health Care Manager, clinical team, admissions team and client’s family

· Coordinates bed space with the admissions department

· Must be proficient in computer skills

· Must have an understanding of client confidentiality and HIPAA

· Must have understanding of the medical disease model and the 12 step recovery process

· Conduct client orientation to Northbound

· Conduct family and referent calls according to agreed program guidelines

· Complete Discharge Plans and Discharge Summaries

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in a chemical dependency treatment environment required (2-5 years preferred);

Preferred: Master in Psychology or Social Work (can be current) or Bachelor’s degree with comparable knowledge base

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC I or higher)

Current Adult CPR and First Aid certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
