La Jolla Vein & Vascular brings together board-certified experts in Vascular Surgery and Interventional Radiology to provide the most advanced treatments for vascular disorders of the legs, feet and pelvis. Our comprehensive vascular center is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team, Part time Wednesday & Thursday's at our Vista Location. Our clinic, with locations in La Jolla on the Scripps Memorial Campus (XIMED building) and in Vista, is dedicated to improving the quality of lives with patients who suffer with vascular conditions, including chronic venous insufficiency, DVT, chronic leg edema, leg ulcers, and peripheral arterial disease.
This is a part-time position for a Medical Assistant in a Vascular / Vein Clinic in Vista, with opportunity to grow to full-time. We are looking for someone with 2 or more years of experience, preferable in a surgical outpatient setting such as plastic surgery, dermatology, general surgery or vascular surgery, who has knowledge and experience with sterile prep. Responsibilities include working alongside the doctor for new patient intake, taking vital signs, entering vital signs, allergies and medications into the EMR.
The ideal candidate will :
Work alongside the doctor in vascular procedures, assist, and sterile prep.
Medical Assistant Certification not required if candidate has 2 years clinical experience
2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferably in a surgical setting.
Comfortable in a fast-paced busy setting
Charming, enthusiastic and people-person, team worker
excellent attention to detail and organization
EMR efficiency
quick learner
Spanish helpful
Must be COVID vaccinated
Responsibilities:
Measures and records vital signs, patient medical history and chief complaints
Educate patients on management of diagnosis, treatments
Prepares patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
Assists physician with exams & procedures
Prepares Sterile trays for procedures
Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks and sterilizes instruments
Maintains clean facility, rooms
Performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times
Performs other position-related duties as assigned
Perform first aid procedures
Other Responsibilities:
Follows company and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
Follows company's protocol
Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
Upholds HIPAA regulations
Reliability and punctuality is a must
Position Requirements:
Medical Assistant Certificate/CPR Certificate - Required
High school graduate - Required
Bachelor's degree - Preferred
Bi-lingual English and Spanish- Preferred
EKG knowledge - Preferred
One (1) or more years Medical Assistant experience in the corresponding setting - Preferred
Federal and State required credentials current and on file
Able to read and write consistent with job requirements; cognitive skills as related to the position Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds - Required
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time - Required
