Murrieta Valley Surgery Associates is seeking an experienced Vascular Surgery Scheduler to join our team. This is a highly demanding and fast-paced role that requires strong organizational skills, precision, and the ability to effectively communicate with patients, providers, and surgeons. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of vascular procedures, in-office procedures, medical coding, and insurance authorization processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule all vascular surgical and in-office procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and communicate with patients, assigned surgeons, and medical staff to ensure seamless scheduling.
  • Verify insurance benefits, obtain authorizations through payor portals, and ensure compliance with HMO requirements.
  • Apply strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding to support procedure scheduling and billing accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding procedure dates, preparation instructions, and follow-up care.
  • Manage scheduling logistics, including travel coordination for surgeons when required.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of vascular terminology and effectively apply it in patient and provider communications.
  • Accurately document and track scheduled procedures in EMR systems.
  • Work with patients to ensure understanding of financial responsibilities and coordinate with billing staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in surgical scheduling, preferably in vascular surgery.
  • Strong knowledge of vascular terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding.
  • Demonstrated experience with insurance payor portals and medical authorization processes.
  • Familiarity with HMO plans specific to Riverside County preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with EMR systems (NextGen) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
