Job Title: Front and Back Office Medical Assistant (Hourly position)

Reports to: Dr. Michael Z. Kurtz, D.O.

Effective Date: Immediate opening

Position Summary

We are looking to employ a dedicated and skilled Front and Back Office Medical Assistant in our Family Practice location. Looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced, team setting environment as well as demonstrate excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to perform duties such as blood draws, EKG’s, rooming of patients, submitting lab orders via EMR, scheduling patients, calling patients, prescriptions (including PA requests) and assisting providers as needed. Working hours are Monday through Friday 8am-6pm and every other Saturday (8am-1pm).

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performing blood draws, EKG’s, injections, and any other orders requested from providers.
  • Room patients and assist with minor procedures as requested by providers.
  • Obtain patient visit information as well as review current medications in EMR system.
  • Prepare patients charts for providers such as inputting of documentation or information needed for patients’ appointments.
  • Submitting lab orders to specified labs via EMR system
  • Work closely with providers to help keep them on track with their schedule each day
  • Working with front office staff to ensure documentation and charts are up to date, scheduling patients and assisting with prescription and clinical calls
  • Checking patients in and out and verifying insurance eligibility

COVID-19 considerations:
All patients are screened before making appointments in office. Any patients with possible Covid symptoms are scheduled as telehealth visits. Masks must be worn at all times for both employees and patients.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • EMR systems: 1 year (Required)
  • Medical Assistants: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant Certificate (Required)
