Job Description

Busy family practice office looking for a front office medical assistant to join our team! This position will consist of primarily front office and some back office duties.

Required Criteria:

Front Office:

• Eligibility and insurance verification
• Experience with EMR or EHR system
• Knowledge of IPA's, HMO, PPO
• Collecting co-pays & verifying patient's eligibility for Medi-Cal-Medicare or other payers.

Back Office

• Administer Injections
• Blood draw
• Prepares patients for examination procedures, including escorting patients to exam rooms; and obtain basic medical information
• Check pulse, vitals, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height of patients
• Record results into the patients' electronic health record

Experience:

• 2-3 years of experience working as a medical assistant in the front/back office (Preferred)
• Knowledge of VFC and CDHP programs
• EMR (E-clinical) experience is preferred, but not required
• Must have good customer service skills
• Must be able to work as a team player in a positive work environment
• Medical Assistant Certificate
• BLS CPR card (Preferred)
• Must be detailed and a fast learner

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
