Family Practice office looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist/Referral Coordinator

Requires one year minimum work experience in a medical office setting!

Looking for a professional Medical Receptionist to join our team. One who has the ability to multi-task, who also understands the value of good customer service. In this role, you will work at the front desk assisting patients and other visitors by greeting them with a smile and pleasant demeanor (on the phone and in person). Must be detail oriented and a multi-tasker with excellent communication & customer service skills. Also has the ability to work together as a team.

Primary job duties will include greeting and checking in patients and visitors, answering phones, collecting patient copays, processing paperwork, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance and referral authorizations.

  • MUST HAVE ONE YEAR OF WORK EXPERIENCE IN A MEDICAL OFFICE SETTING AND BILINGUAL (Fluent Spanish)

Responsibilities:

  • Professionally greet patients in person and over the phone
  • Answer patient questions and provide assistance
  • Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations
  • Scan and update pertinent patient information into EMR
  • Schedule appointments
  • Verify Insurance
  • Submit, track and follow-up on referrals
  • Collect copays and balances
  • Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and check them over to ensure that the required fields are completed properly prior to scanning into EMR

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in a relevant Medical Receptionist role
  • Friendly and compassionate disposition
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, ICD and CPT coding (highly advantageous)
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work together as a team
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent documentation & communication
    • Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of patient records
    • Familiarity with ECW a plus

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week
