Occupational Health Medical Assistant / Front Office Coordinator (Bilingual English/Spanish)

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Front Office / Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
    • Be fluent in both English and Spanish and able to accurately interpret for healthcare providers.
    • Be passionate about Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and Workers' Compensation.
    • Be highly organized, dependable, and able to multitask in a busy clinical environment.

    • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.

    • Have experience with electronic medical records (EMR). Billing experience is a plus.

Clinical Responsibilities
Assist physicians and medical providers with patient care.
    •  
    • Obtain and accurately document patient history, including:

      Chief Complaint (CC)

        •  
        • History of Present Illness (HPI)

        •  
        • Review of Systems (ROS)

        •  
        • Past Medical, Family, and Social History (PMH, FH, SH)

        •  
        • Vital signs and other clinical information

      •  
    • Administer vaccines and other injections as directed.

    •  
    • Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing (spirometry), respirator fit testing, and other occupational health procedures.

    •  
    • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.

    •  
    • Clean and restock examination rooms following each patient encounter.

Occupational Health Responsibilities
Experience or certification in the following is preferred:
DOT and Non-DOT Drug Testing
    •  
    • Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT)

    •  
    • DOT Physicals (assisting providers)

    •  
    • Occupational Health Services

    •  
    • Workers' Compensation patient management

  •  
Front Office Responsibilities
This position also includes part-time front office responsibilities, including:
Greeting and checking in patients
    •  
    • Scheduling appointments
    • Sending and receiving RFA (Request for authorization) and coordinating the services

    •  
    • Answering multi-line phone calls

    •  
    • Insurance verification

    •  
    • Collecting co-payments and patient forms

    •  
    • Maintaining accurate patient records

  •  
Employer & Insurance Communication
The successful candidate will:
Communicate promptly and professionally with employers after occupational health services are completed.
    •  
    • Send required reports and documentation to employers on the same day whenever possible.

    •  
    • Communicate effectively with insurance companies, adjusters, billing departments, and other healthcare providers.

    •  
    • Respond promptly to requests for medical records and supporting documentation.

Preferred Qualifications
Medical Assistant Certification
    •  
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

    •  
    • Phlebotomy experience

    •  
    • Workers' Compensation experience

    •  
    • Occupational Medicine experience

    •  
    • Urgent Care experience

    •  
    • EMR experience

    •  
    • Medical billing knowledge (preferred but not required)
