About us
Our mission is to provide access to affordable, quality medical, dental, and other health care services to all residents of Southern California communities, especially the vulnerable population. We have 2 existing locations in Tustin and La Habra, California, and are looking forward to the Grand Opening of our 3rd location in Ontario, California this fall.
Position: Front Office Assistant/Receptionist - Hiring for Adults and Pediatrics
Summary: Full-time front office assistant to assist in verifying insurance eligibility, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and more. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. At least 1 year of medical front office experience required.
Key Position Responsibilities:
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
- Efficiently schedules appointments
- Has experience verifying patient insurance benefits and eligibility (preferred)
- Reminds patients of their appointment the day before; registers and checks in patients in a timely manner; prepares necessary documents for the visit; notifies provider of patients’ late arrival; reschedules late arriving patients when necessary
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating patient demographics and insurance information in the electronic health records system
- Maintains accurate financial records by updating patient financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; providing patients with receipts for payments.
- Helps patients in distress by responding to crisis' appropriately
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information per HIPAA regulations
- Maintains operations by following company policies and procedures.
- Performs all other duties as trained and requested by provider and/or management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Medical front office reception experience
- Other medical office experience
- Able and comfortable translating, if bilingual
- Excellent verbal, telephone and communication skills
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and possesses strong computer skills
- Can adjust to new environments easily and willing to learn new skills
- Can manage individual responsibilities with little or no direction
- Professional behavior and appearance
- Willing to work daily and be present for entire office hours
- Ability to use good judgment and seek appropriate resources in difficult or stressful situations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Masks required for all front line employees at all times. Gloves, face shield, and other PPE optional for front office staff. Protective plexi glass in all front office areas and screening required for all patients. Vaccination required.
