Full Job Description
The Medical Assistant Front Office provides support to the Student Health Center and Health Care Providers. This position assists the team to ensure a smooth-running office, maintaining appointments, walk-ins and other medical needs of the university. The Medical Assistant maintains strict confidentiality of clinical, social, financial, or other student data in compliance with university, state and federal guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities

Front Office Operations Support:
Greeting and welcoming patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
Scheduling appointments and maintain records and accounts.
Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area.
Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment services and repairs.
Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.

Back Office Operations Support:
Verifies patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
Prepares patients for examination including vital signs.
Saves Health Care Providers’ time by helping with office procedures within their scope of practice.
Maintains medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of pharmaceutical use.
Facilitate referrals to other health and social service agencies when appropriate. · Promote health and wellness in areas of lifestyle and behavior that enhance physical, psychological, and social well-being.
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Medical Assistant Certified.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Communicating Orally.
Reasoning and Analyzing.
Ability to maintain poise in fast paced environment.
Demonstrate professional customer service skills.
