Hospice Receptionist
* This job is located in our beautiful Irvine office
Heartford Hospice, a new premier hospice organization serving patients in the greater Orange County/Inland Empire area, provides expertise, compassion, and care for our patients and their families as they face terminal illness. Our team of professionals helps improve quality of life by addressing the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients. Through this interdisciplinary approach, we seek to comfort the heart, mind and body.
The Hospice Receptionist will manage our front desk operations. This role will be responsible for administrative and clerical tasks. Our Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for first impressions with customers and the main point of contact, welcoming guests who visit the business and answer all incoming calls from clients, patients, and family members. The Receptionist will also ensure the front desk reception area has representation during business hours. To be successful as a Front Desk Receptionist, you should have a pleasant personality with excellent phone and interpersonal skills, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to problem solve quickly and effectively while performing other office operations. Multitasking is essential for this position.
Essential Job Functions
- Represents the Office professionally by greeting visitors and responding to telephone inquiries with courtesy.
- Answer telephones, record, and/or direct calls to appropriate individuals in a timely, clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Ensures the effective operation of the Office by ensuring all equipment is operational, supplies are maintained in appropriate volume, and conference rooms and other common areas are tidy.
- Maintains a high level of organization within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent ; some college preferred.
- One to three years prior relevant experience.
- Ability to work on various assignments simultaneously and communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and visitors.
- Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within an automated systems as well as a variety of software packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word.
