Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Infusion Technician to join our team. The Infusion Technician will be responsible for preparing and administering intravenous medications and fluids to patients under the direction of healthcare professionals. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare intravenous medications and fluids according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Perform venipuncture and access peripheral venous catheters for medication administration.
• Monitor patients during infusion therapy, including vital signs and response to treatment.
• Document patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and handling of medications and supplies.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Provide education and support to patients and caregivers regarding infusion therapy and medication administration.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or licensure as a Pharmacy Technician or Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an infusion technician or similar role in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and IV catheter insertion techniques.
• Knowledge of medication dosages, calculations, and administration procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
