Full Job Description
Northbound Treatment Services is a nationally recognized private, residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment program for adults. Accredited by The Joint Commission, Northbound meets the highest quality standards for behavioral health and client care.
Northbound is looking for a Intake Specialist (Swing shift 2p to 10:30p) to complete initial client intakes and assist with the admissions process.
*Candidates must have at least one year of continuous sobriety to be considered*
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Understanding/Awareness – The Intake Specialist must demonstrate a clear understanding of the disease of alcoholism, chemical dependency, co-occurring disorders as well as the Northbound Treatment Services treatment philosophy.
- Assist Admissions Counselors- This position assists the admissions counselors with completion of financial paperwork, pre-admission assessments, and admission scheduling and transportation. This position can also assist with tours and ancillary services associated with the admissions process.
- Skilled Communication- Intake Specialist must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. At times, they are responsible for communicating with families, potential clients, and third party contracted providers. Intake Specialist will have the ability to field overflow and Admissions calls, taking down pertinent information and entering into the company’s EMR software.
- Insurance – Intake Specialist will be responsible for primary verification of benefits (upon Intake, fields inquiries from prospective clients). Intake Specialist will update and maintain Northbound Treatment Services’ daily Level of Care (LOC) Census.
- Intake and Assessments – Complete client intakes following admissions process including completing an assessment based on ASAM Criteria to ensure proper level of care placement. This includes gathering of collateral information from families, referents, and previous behavioral health providers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Previous experience in Treatment preferred. Experience with Kipu system preferred. The minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalency test, familiarity with the twelve step recovery program, and if in recovery, a minimum one year continuous sobriety, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
RADT or Higher
Current Adult CPR certification
Current Adult First Aid certification
Valid California Class C Driver’s License
