Full Job Description
Northbound Treatment Services is a nationally recognized private, residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment program for adults. Accredited by The Joint Commission, Northbound meets the highest quality standards for behavioral health and client care.
Northbound is looking for an Intake Manager responsible for the oversight of the intake coordinators and intake process including completion of initial client intakes and assisting the admissions department in tasks associated with the admissions process.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Understanding/Awareness – The Intake Manager must demonstrate a clear understanding of the disease of alcoholism, chemical dependency, co-occurring disorders as well as the Northbound Treatment Services treatment philosophy. They must demonstrate knowledge of State, Federal regulations, JCAHO, ASAM and Northbound Treatment Services standards as they pertain to the job expectations.
- Scheduling – Weekly scheduling for intake department.
- Training –The Intake Manager will provide ongoing training to Admissions Department on intake process, verifications of benefits, and EMR system requirements.
· Assist Admissions Counselors- This position assists the admissions counselors with completion of financial paperwork, pre-admission assessments, and admission scheduling and transportation. This position can also assist with tours and ancillary services associated with the admissions process.
- Skilled Communication- Intake Manager must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. At times, they are responsible for communicating with families, potential clients, and third party contracted providers. Intake Manager will have the ability to field overflow and Admissions calls, taking down pertinent information and entering into the company’s EMR software.
- Insurance – Intake Manager will oversee the primary verification of benefits (upon Intake, fields inquiries from prospective clients).
- Availability-– Intake Manager is required to work beyond normal (corporate office) working various days Monday thru Sunday. Flexibility in scheduling is required for this position.
- Client Confidentiality – Intake Manager must maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient information to assure patient rights are protected.
· Intake and Assessments – Ensures all client intakes are completed including an assessment based on ASAM Criteria to ensure proper level of care placement. This includes gathering of collateral information from families, referents, and previous behavioral health providers.
· Auditing - This position is responsible for ensuring that all intakes are completed and have accurate and complete information including demographics, insurance cards, forms, and that assessments are thorough enough to be reviewed by third-party payers. The Intake Manager will audit calls for compliance and follow up and track in Salesforce.
Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalency test, familiarity with the twelve step recovery program, and if in recovery, a minimum one year continuous sobriety, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must have experience performing intake/admissions procedures.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Registered Recovery Worker Certification or Higher
Current Adult CPR certification
Current Adult First Aid certification
Valid California Class C Driver’s License
SKILLS/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

2. Attendance in an appropriate support group is required, as directed by their direct supervisor, in order to gain a better perception of the disease they will be working with on a daily basis.

5. Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
6. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle patients based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
7. Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
8. Must demonstrate a variety of clinical and management skills. Ethical and Professional Behavior as stated and will demonstrate the American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines with respect to patient care.
9. Must have the ability to multitask in a dynamic (often fast-paced,) high-stress environment and prioritize tasks as necessary based on level of importance.
