Full Job Description
Duties
You will perform various administrative duties in support of services provided, to include conducting seminars for facility, installation, and community healthcare providers and staff.
You will perform a variety of professional tasks related to substance use disorder treatment planning, community referrals and consultations, and in-services training.
You will provide thorough assessment, counseling, and consultation services to clients who present for care with substance abuse risk factors and/or disorders.
You will coordinate with community referral resources in the development of specific treatment programs.
You will interview individuals and family members to explore and analyze factors influencing personality development and family structure in relation to the development of symptomatic behavior patterns.
You will devise workable treatment plans and provide direct treatment using a wide variety of techniques for the resolution of personal, social, or environmental difficulties.

This is a bargaining unit position
You must meet degree and licensure requirements for privileging at the independent practitioner level.
You will be required to meet any applicable credentialing or privileging requirements prior to appointment.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
You will be required to undergo a criminal history background investigation.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Conducting screenings, assessments, and counseling for at-risk clients utilizing concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to substance use disorders; 2) Teaching therapeutic techniques in prevention and intervention to assist clients in the substance abuse recovery process; 3) Analyzing and evaluating clients' biopsychosocial history to develop workable treatment plans; and 4) Communicating orally to present recommendations at higher level briefings.

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Applicant must possess a State / U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an Independent Practitioner with one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist.

Psychology Series (0180): successful completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or successful completion of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology in an accredited educational institution.

Social Work Series (0185): successful completion of a degree in social work that fulfills all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; OR, successful completion of a master's degree in social work with practicum.
