Metagenics is seeking a Manager, Accounting with a focus Accounts Payable to join our team! We are a company growing our digital presence and ecommerce sales. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager who will play a key role in our financial operations by leading our accounts payable team and driving process improvements through effective use of systems.

This role is responsible for supervising the Accounts Payable department by identifying, recording, and reporting the transactional business of the Company in accordance with GAAP. To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive, solutions-oriented leader with a strong focus on driving process improvements and leveraging systems. You will have leadership qualities to successfully mentor, guide and develop the team in an evolving and continuous improvement environment.
Responsibilities:
What you’ll do:

  • Manage and oversee the accounts payable team, ensuring timely and accurate vendor invoicing, credit processing, and payment activities.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our procure to pay process through accounting systems, processes, and internal controls, with a strong focus on automation and technology-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, purchasing, and IT, to ensure seamless integration procure to pay processes and systems.
  • Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to accounts payable and assist with providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance with all applicable financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of procure to pay policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring they are updated and communicated across the organization.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize accounts payable processes, pay invoices timely, and reduce the number of exceptions.
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries relating to accounts payable, ensuring proper back up support is included.
  • Approve payment journals, stop payments, and voided checks as needed.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the company's annual financial audit, liaising with external auditors as needed.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to the accounts payable team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and special projects as needed, supporting the company's aggressive growth objectives.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure related to procure to pay.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.
  • Foster strong relationships with IT, Operations, and outside consultants to identify best practices then drive implementation across the organization.
What you'll need:


Experience / Training / Education

  • Must have BA/BS in accounting with strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and supervision, with a strong focus accounts payable and process improvements
  • Experience in with payables software with OCR capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across various departments and levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging technology and systems to drive process improvements and automation
  • Microsoft D365 Accounting Software preferred
  • CPA a plus


Knowledge of

  • Windows operating environment and MS Office products (Excel, Word, Access
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Financial Software’s


Skills/Abilities

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills are essential
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Must adapt to change and be flexible
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Dynamics D365 experience a plus
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with ability to get to root cause
  • Ability to challenge current processes and innovate
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP requirements
  • Expert problem-solving and data-analysis skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work professionally in a team environment with both internal and external customers
  • Sits at a computer station, meeting table or work desk for more than two-thirds of each day
  • Stands and walks to other stations and departments throughout the day
  • Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment most of the day
  • May stoop or crouch to access files or storage
  • Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses
  • Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and especially via the telephone
  • Lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; lifts 25 pounds occasionally
  • Exposed to noise levels typical of office environments

Compensation:

The current range for this role based out of Aliso Viejo, CA is $85,000/yr - $102,000/yr.


The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.


This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
