Job Title: Medical Assistant - Primary Care/Family Medicine Practice

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our esteemed primary care and family medicine practice in Temecula, California. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals, supporting them in delivering high-quality medical services to our valued patients. Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Greet and welcome patients, ensuring a positive and comfortable clinic experience.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary forms and updating their medical history accurately.
  • Measure vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight, documenting them in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
  • Collect specimens for diagnostic testing and properly handle and label samples for processing.
  • Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures, following proper infection control protocols.
  • Administer medications and vaccines under the direction of licensed medical professionals.
  • Perform basic medical procedures, such as wound dressing, suture removal, and ear irrigation.
  • Conduct basic in-office diagnostic tests, including ECGs, peak flow measurements, and urine tests.
  • Ensure all medical equipment is clean, organized, and in proper working condition.
  • Administrative Duties: Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar efficiently.
  • Handle patient inquiries over the phone and in person, providing excellent customer service.
  • Manage patient medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with billing and coding tasks, working closely with the billing department.
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as maintaining office supplies and managing inventory.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.

Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on medical protocols and best practices. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear instructions and educational materials as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a Medical Assistant Certificate.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience working as a Medical Assistant in a primary care or family medicine setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, EHR systems, and basic medical procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize and provide compassionate care.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment and handle unpredictable situations.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
