Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support our medical staff by performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our practice and provide high-quality patient care.

Medical Assistant (MA) is expected to greet and escort patients to pre-op, post-op or examination room, verify purpose of visit, take and record vital signs, observe, record and report patient condition. Medical Assistant may operate or assist in operating various mechanical devices, transport patient via wheelchair or stretcher within the surgery center. MA can answer the phones, assemble medical records according to unit standard, order and ensure lab tests are filed accurately. MA can support the objectives and philosophy of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist to prepare patients for Procedures. Understands the requirement for patient safety.
  • Assist with collecting data
  • Assist the RN & Physician during Examinations or Procedures
  • Phone in or enter electronic Prescriptions (according to State regulation)
  • Preparing Operating / Procedure Rooms
  • Follows all Safety Precautions and Infection Control guidelines
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions
  • Participate in ordering of surgical, clinical and clerical supplies for unit
  • Maintain Hazard Communications sheets (SDS) and keep the list of chemicals up to date.
  • Accurately schedule patient procedures and make necessary preop calls within scope of practice

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or similar) is a plus but not required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Korean and English is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
